The Geneva Malt House was located on Lake Street just at the canal bridge and on the opposite side of the NY Central RR station.
Samuel K. Nester, born in East Brunswick PA 28 Nov 1840, went to New York City at age 14 to work in a malt house. After acquiring the knowledge of the malt business, he came to Phelps in Ontario County and started a malthouse which became successful. In 1876 he came to Geneva and entered into business with Mr. Betz.
